Brian Dowley Youth Hockey Fund

On August 10th 2018 our father, Brian Dowley, died at the age of 67 following a two year battle with Leukemia. Among many other qualities, those around him knew him for his quiet yet goofy personality, his deep caring for his community, and his love for the game of hockey.
From a very young age Brian took almost every chance he could to be out on the ice. He played countless games of pond hockey through the winters, and was a part of school teams throughout his teenage years. Wherever Brian lived he always found a local hockey league to join, many of which played at Simoni Rink in East Cambridge.
He skated every year of his life, including the past two during his treatments.
In recent years, Brian spent much of his time as a coach for varying age groups within Cambridge Youth Hockey. During the season we would receive weekly texts and calls about the most recent upset win against Somerville, or an upcoming game against Medford that would be a rematch of the hard fought loss of the prior season. He was dedicated to the game, his players, and the league.
In honor of our father's devotion to Cambridge Youth Hockey, we are setting up this fund to contribute to the Cambridge Youth Hockey Family Financial Aid Program. As many of you know, hockey can be a very expensive sport to play. This program is designed to help offset these expenses as a way to insure that any kid can have the opportunity to play hockey within Cambridge.
100% of all contributions will go to Cambridge Youth Hockey in a donation made in Brian's name. Information about Cambridge Youth Hockey can be found through the link below.
