Brian lost his battle to cancer on March 1st 2018. To honour his life and his memory is one of the motivations behind our upcoming cycle from Athlone to Galway. Brian was a talent and valuable player to our club and is deeply missed by us all. To thank the South Westmeath Hospice and Palliative Care Team, to whom his family and people close to him, will be forever indebted, we are organizing a charity cycle from Athlone to Galway on Saturday the 25th of May to raise as much money as possible to help the Westmeath Hospice and Palliative Care Team with the fantastic work they for people with illnesses.

Brian was man who fought his illness with every sinew of strength he had and was an inspiration to those around him. His loss has deeply affected all those who knew him both family and friends. During his illness the palliative care team provided an invaluable service to Brian and his family.

The cycle will be stopping in Ballinasloe and Craughwell before reaching the finishing point at the Connacht Hotel in Galway. Sponsors have agreed to provide transport for the cyclists, and their bikes, back to Athlone where a gathering will take place that evening in The Bounty (Buccaneers Rugby Club).

Any kind donations for this event would be greatly appreciated, as it will go along way to supporting Westmeath Hospice and the great work they do. Thanking you in advance.
