Brian Blazer and Family

In fifteen minutes a man's labor of love was reduced to ashes. Last night a fire consumed the home of our good friends, the Blazer family, in Alabama. 
Thankfully, none of the family members were physically injured.

Naturally, we all develop an attachment to the buildings where we create our homes. But theirs was not an ordinary house! Brian Blazer built every inch by hand. He dragged the logs out of the surrounding woods with draft horses. He set up a sawmill to cut the lumber, which he stacked and dried for several years. He worked on his house for over 10 years. It was beautiful and impressive in every single detail. The stairway, cabinets, porches, furniture, fireplaces, doors, floors, the woodshop...every corner possessed a unique charm of their own. Most importantly, this place became a loving home for Brian, Kathy and their five children.  

Every single belonging, from the children's Christmas presents to the treasures they had accumulated a lifetime, were lost. 

Their needs are countless and immediate. (And they would be the last to tell you!) They range from the very basic to reconstructing a new home. From toothbrushes to appliances and all else in between. 

We find ourselves several states away wanting to help in some way, but not able to be there in person to pitch in. If you know and love the Blazer family as much as we do we encourage you to donate through this site so they can begin to rebuild their lives one day and one item at the time.

And if you do not know the Blazers but can't imagine enduring hardship of this intensity, please lend them a  hand. We hope and pray our collective support will lift them up in the difficult months to come.
