Brian and Josh Gilchrist's Funeral Expenses

This afternoon, 02/20/2022, Petersburg High School Band has learned that one of our own, Josh Gilchrist passed away with his father, Brian Gilchrist in vehicle accident. Josh was part of our band family. He has touched our lives in tremendous ways.

 

Josh Gilchrist was a senior at Petersburg High School. He has been a member of the band program since he was in eighth grade.

 

He was our "Just Dance" Champion. He was a talented musician, and had a gift for computers. He was working at the local McDonald's. He loved memes. He also participated with West Virginia Theater East as one of their "featured dancers." He participated in "The Music Man" and "Romeo and Juliet." His goal was to graduate and pursue computer science.

 

He was a true friend, always greeting everyone with a smile and showed love to everyone. On Saturday evening, Josh and his father, Brian went to a music concert in Pittsburgh, which he had been looking forward to for awhile. They called their family around 11:00 pm, telling them that they were stopping for something to drink, and heading home. Unfortunately, they were in a car accident, and died upon impact.

 

Brian, his dad was a quiet man that supported his son with his participation in band, and theater. He took care of his family, working, and was their main transportation for health appointments.

 

Their family is devastated. There is no life insurance, and now they will be responsible for two funerals. So we are requesting for help to go to Schaeffer's Funeral Home in Petersburg WV where the arrangements are going to be made.

 

We thank you in advance for helping us to provide a funeral for our brother. We are a band family. He will be missed by current band kids, past band kids, and band parents.
