Guatemala - Brett Miller

Hello all!

This spring I have the privilege of taking part in a compassion trip with a team of 10-16 college students and leaders from The Venture Church (The River Community Church) in Hartland, Michigan. We will build six homes for widows and feed malnourished children in Chichicastenango (Chichi), Guatemala. A home for these families is crucial, because it significantly reduces the chances of sickness by putting a roof over their heads and a cement slab underneath them instead of a dirt floor. The feeding program we will be a part of serves over 1200 children and 250 widows each week, which will help nourish them, give them hope and energy to be more productive and healthier members of their society.

I am very excited to embark on this journey knowing there will be numerous amounts of new experiences to be had and new sights to see. For this trip, because it is over seas, it’s quiet costly. The trip costs anywhere from $1700 to $2000. Within that amount, airfare and travel within Chichi, food, housing and the cost of supplies will be covered. This is an awesome opportunity I have been presented and would greatly appreciate any support whether it comes through prayer or financially.

There will be a blog that will be created closer to the time that our group leaves that will have daily updates to keep friends and family back home informed and updated. Once that is created, I will get that out immediately.
