Brent Watkins

Brent Watkins is from California and has started on the Men's Basketball team at the University of Lethbridge for the past 2 seasons.  For anyone and everyone that knows him, you know that he is a selfless person that is willing to do anything for others.  He was home in California for a short period of time for his summer break and on his return to Lethbridge on July 4, he was involved in a serious car accident near Butte Montana.  He broke both his legs (one clean break and shattered the other femur and knee), bruised his heart and lungs and has some fluid build up in his lungs.  He will hopefully be out of the coma by Wednesday, July 9, but could be in the Butte hospital for quite some time as they are still doing tests worried about internal bleeding.  His family flew up to be with him in Montana, but all of this requires them to pay out of their pockets to be with him.  I have been thinking hard as to what we as a team could do for Brent as he literally fights for his life and thought that seeking donations for his family would relieve one stress from the family.  We are praying for Brent and believe that he will be able to pull through and fight the odds.
