Brent Manwaring Family Fund

Monday, January 5th my brother in law, Brent Manwaring went in to get a scope on his esophagus due to heartburn.  Brent is a Type 1 diabetic so unfortunately that has been something he has lived with for years. At that time, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. We all honestly thought ok, we can do this. A hard surgery and possibly chemo and we got this! As long as the CAT scan comes back good. Were ok. It's ok.   Wednesday, I had to go pick my sister up off of a sick bed at work because she couldn't even stand or breathe. They got the news of Brents CAT scan. Huntsman confirmed Stage 4 aggresive cancer. We don't want to go into too many details to protect the boys. Brent came in a few minutes later with his hands in his coat pockets and a big smile on his face and said to Mere. "come on ya little muffin...let me take you home and get you a bowl of soup".  That...is our Brent.  They are going to try chemo. Its going to be hard, due to Brent's already compromized kidneys from his diabetes. Brent is 45 years young. They have 2 beautiful, sweet 11 year old twin boys that adore their dad and their mom. Brent is the funniest, most caring, giving, loving person that has had alot of trials in his life that he has overcame. Just to be a great dad for his boys and a fantastic husband for his wife.  All of you that know Brent know exatly what i mean when i say funny. There's only one Brent in this world. I promise you that his number one and only concern is that Mere and the boys will be ok. Through this he has been sweet, caring, humble, funny and honestly through all that he's been through this week he has been there for our pain and heartache. He is the one helping us. You know what they say about hardships bringing out peoples true character?  Thats Brent and honestly, Mere is doing the same. They are both shining stars that are bigger and better than anger or remorse or regret or anything besides grabbing life right now by the horns. They are going to live life to the very fullest. Spend time with the twins and each other and family and friends. Everyone that is going to go through this with them will be blessed beyond belief. I'm asking this for Brent. Please help out their little family. All Donations will be deposited into the Manwaring Fund account at Mountain America where Meredith (my sister) is the beneficiary, and will be using it to help with medical costs. They won't ask. They just won't. There just has been so many wonderful people asking us to set up this page for them. We are so very grateful and thankful. God bless and please hug your family and friends tight.
