Brendan and Carson's Fire Recovery Fund

The morning of April 6 a massive fire broke out at the construction site at the corner of Union and Glenmore. By the time fire crews got to the scene all they could do is try to minimize the fire from spreading townhouse complex right beside it. Branden Harkin and Carson Judd, owners of unit 7 closest to fire, awoke to the heat cracking the windows causing them to burst, The only thing on their minds were to GET OUT. 

All said and done, well over $10,000 dollars in damage to just personal items without insurance to cover their loss. With the building only being only a few months old there wasn't any money in the strata unit either, so all the units have to pay a combined $10,000 in damages divided among 7 units which is about $1,400 per unit. Both Brendon and Carson are okay which is good news but are emotionally distraught by the loss.

We'd like to do our best to raise $10,000 to at least put a dent in the recovery of the damages to help Branden Harkin and Carson Judd. We have a strong community here in Kelowna and we are confident we can help them through these though times.

Brendon and Carson will need to pay back the Strata Fund in the next couple weeks so if we could pull together and do our best in the next 2 weeks to get some money for the strata that would have the biggest impact for them.
