My name is Kristen and I am the Founder and Executive Director of Break the Silence against Domestic Violence. I am a survivor. I've dedicated my life to empowering the lives affected by violence. I've been honored as the American Red Cross Wendall Cutting Humanitarian Recipient for the work I do for domestic violence advocacy. Through our social media efforts, I want to spark a deeper global awareness surrounding domestic violence.

Plan of Action & Purpose:

With your help, I plan to travel the country and film 10 personal statements of women who have been greatly impacted by our work. The film will document this journey, meeting and filming the women we have been able to affect. Our plan is to take this collection of personal statements, creating a video with one message "“ "We are survivors". This video will then be delivered to the Founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. Social media has given us the platform to create social change and we want to thank him personally for that. This message is for you Mark!

Stretched Funds:
My goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the minimum cost of production expenses to 10 cities across the country. All funds over the goal will go towards transportation, meals, and a production assistant.
Additionally, once accommodations are accounted for we will be donating COMPLIMENTARY screenings to middle school, high school, and college campuses across the world!


Risks and Challenges:

I've faced many obstacles in my life, including having my arms and legs tied behind my back while being suffocated by my abuser. I have grown to overcome that, and now it's time to combat it on a global level. The only challenge we face is not being able to finance our complete production costs.

Despite this possible risk, I am confident we will overcome this challenge with our focus, determination, and resourcefulness.
