Officer B. Hopkins & Family

Donation protected
I am a fellow officer of Officer Brandon Hopkins.  His lovely wife, Miranda has reached out to me in hopes of finding some relief with their financial struggles during a trying time for their family.
As the medical bills continue to mount Miranda is at a point she is taking unpaid leave from work in order to stay home and care for Brandon following his chemo treatments.
This is from Miranda:
" After seeking help from his primary doctor for fatigue and other  unexplainable symptoms Brandon has been battling for 10 years my dear husband was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) in December of 2008.   In March of 2016 Brandon began his 1st round of chemotherapy.  He has chemo treatments for 3 days in a row every 25 days.  The chemo treatments unfortunately causes the white blood cell count to drop dangerously low, causing him to be more suspectible to other infections his antibodies are unable to fight off.
Last month Brandon was hospitalized for 5 days due to a bacterial infection caused by a bacteria which natuarally grows on the human skin.
Brandon will begin his next round of chemo treatment on May 12, 2016.  During this time period Brandon will have to be closely monitored for approximately 2  weeks while his body recovers and attempts to rebuild his white blood cells. "
During the time period of chemo and recovering  Miranda is taking unpaid leave from work to care for Brandon as well as their 5 children (she has exhausted all of her leave time).
While Brandon relies heavily on the love of his children to keep his spirits high their contact with him is limited during this time period and often times the children will spend time with their grammy to limit Brandon's exposure to any other bacteria.
Miranda states they are very open with their children mostly due to the fact the prognosis for CLL is hopeful.  Brandon's doctors indicate he has 4 more rounds of chemo treatment and strongly believe the chances of recurrence is very slim.
All money donated will be given directly to Miranda to assist them with medical expenses as well as to help relieve some of the financial burdens from taking unpaid leave from work over the next 4 to 5 months.
As an individual who struggles with my own immune deficiency this is a cause I have taken a personal interest as a fellow officer and as a friend to the Hopkins family.
Any donation to help this lovely family will be a true blessing and greatly appreciated.
