Brandon Coryea medical expenses

This Go-Fund me is to raise money to help with medical expenses for Brandon Coryea and his family. Brandon is probably one of the best people I have ever met. He loves life and his family (he considers friends family). His laugh is contagious and he’s always willing to lend a helping hand. He’s the type of person that you love to surround yourself with. The past few months have been very hard but he is such a strong fighter. Long story short: About two years ago Brandon had gallbladder issues and had it removed. He was in a lot of pain & the surgeon could not see him for five weeks post-surgery. At which time an MRI revealed a blood clot “portal vein thrombosis” . He was placed on blood thinners and removed a year later. This November the complications began. The blood clot caused the veins in his esophagus to burst. Requiring multiple procedures. December he went back to the hospital and his intestines and spleen were swollen and the clot was expanding sending him to the ICU. He was transferred to Emory where they discovered the clot is blocking the blood flow to his intestines. So far he had several surgeries including three to remove necrotic sections of his intestines and draining excess fluids from his bowels. He is sedated and intubated with feeding tubes and an open wound and wound vac. With many more procedures to follow leading up to organ transplants after he is stable, he will remain in the hospital for at least the next eight months. He will need to be transported to George Town in Washington DC for the transplants.  As an Army Vet he is stubborn and a fighter. He and his family have a long road ahead, but the battle will be worth it when he comes home and makes everyone’s world a little better place.    From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you for taking the time to read a little about his story.
