Bragg Family Medical and Funeral For Ilex

Donation protected
Please take a moment to read and consider making a heart felt contribution towards medical expenses, and burial cost to help  alleviate the crushing burden this amazing family is experiencing.    Jesse and Kymberly Bragg are two of the most loving, caring, and giving people you could ever hope to meet, let alone befriend. Jesse is a decorated, actively serving Staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, as well as a Millwright in Local 1090, Toledo Ohio. Kym is a stay at home mom that is raising two beautiful children, Elle and Olin Bragg, and up until April 17th, 2020 was expecting their 3rd child, a boy, on May 10th, 2020.  On April 17th, 2020 Jesse and Kym went to Tiffin Hospital for a final check up and were surprised and unprepared for the news, that they were going to be induced and would end up delivering a healthy 5 lb. 10 oz. bay boy, named Ilex Harold Elmer Bragg.  Everyone was doing fine and was cleared to go home.  9 days later this now family of 5's world would be turned upside down.  Ilex became very fussy and was not able to eat and keep anything down.  Jesse, who had just received a much needed Job assignment went to work on this Monday morning. later that day Kym decided to take Ilex to the Fremont ER to just have him checked out and make sure everything was okay, as her motherly intuition was kicking in and wanted to be sure all was well. However all was not well, in fact shortly after arriving at Fremont Memorial Hospital, Baby Ilex was taken by life flight to the Promedica Russel J. Ebeid Children's Hospital, where he was diagnosed with Necrotizing Enterocolitis ( NEC).  The nurses and doctors immediately began life saving efforts to save the life of Ilex, this included the removal of his intestines, and a massive regiment of antibiotics and other life saving methods.  These amazing Super men and Super women worked all day and all night to save this precious little boy as the family looked on, praying and pleading all day and all night. unfortunately at 11:00 am April 28th, 2020 Ilex succumbed to his illness, he was 10 days old.

Funeral services are being held at Herman-veh funeral home & cremation service

This go fund me is being set up to help this broken family in their time of need and loss.  For not only were they caught off guard by the early arrival of Ilex, they are devastated by his early departure. The unexpected weight of the medical and burial cost will be crushing and we are trying to help with that burden in any way possible.   The Bragg family would never ask anyone for help, all the while giving the shirt off their backs to anyone in need. Now they are the ones in need, please if you can, even in this time of crisis in our country from Covid-19, help give this amazing family a little piece of mind knowing they don't have to face these medical and memorial cost alone.

Via Kymberly, "Just as unprepared as we were when he came into this world we were unprepared for his departure. They thought he had a twisted bowel but he had NEC. There was no way of knowing and there was nothing we could have done. He had an extensive amount of intestines removed. Many babies never leave the hospital the day they are born who have NEC. We were blessed to have had 10 days with him."
