Rose's Heart: Adventure to Boston

Donation protected
After a failed cardiac ablation procedure in Syracuse this past February, Rose's SVT has become much more than just the "nuisance" the cardiologists originally described it as. She went from getting an elective procedure to fix a condition that caused tachycardic episodes 6 times a year, to having 3 episodes a day. She wore a heart monitor everyday for a month, and now is on heart medications to prevent the episodes from happening. The medications have needed to be increased three times since she started them.
The good news is that she FINALLY has everything set to go to Boston Childrens' Hospital to repeat the procedure. These surgeons are supposed to be the best in the country and perform catheter ablations much more frequently than anywhere else. It's scheduled for August 1st.
The not-so-good news is that there is no Ronald McDonald house there! Even if there were, with such short notice we'd never get in. There are some hotels in Boston which offer discounts for patients' families, but it is not a guarantee. We've only got 2 weeks!
Rosemarie is planning to go to Harvard and become a Pediatric Cardiologist to help other kids like herself. She's reading Gray's Anatomy this Summer - mostly aloud to the entire house, which is hysterical. Let's hope this is her last trip to Boston Childrens' Hospital - as a patient ;-)
