Tim Bowman, son of Reverend
Tim and Nena Bowman grew up in Mount Dora, Florida. He attended the First Baptist Church Mount Dora from childhood until he graduated from Mount Dora High School and joined the United States Coast Guard. Tim has two beautiful children, Abby and Emily, and is married to wife Nanette Bowman. Tim met Nannette while stationed in Puerto Rico. They married in March of 2014 with plans for Nannette to move to the United States while Tim was stationed in St. Pete. Just within days of their ceremony, Nannette’s father had a major Stroke. Nanette is a physical Therapist and because of the poor medical system in Puerto Rico, they determined it was necessary to stay in Puerto Rico to personally take care of her father. Tim retired as Chief Petty officer in the Coast Guard in October of 2016. He then moved back to Puerto Rico to assist Nanette in care of her now completely bedridden father. Tim is too humble to ask for help, but this is a great opportunity to help someone who has always put others before himself. They will have long road to face in the next year. It is estimated that they will remain without power for a minimum of 6 months. In this time, it is imperative that they run their generators almost all of the time because if the humidity gets too high it increases risk for bed sores and infections for Nanette father. This means they need lots of filters, oil, and fuel for generators that is scarce to purchase in Puerto Rico at this time. They also need supplies such as gloves, bed pads, Adult large diapers, and wipes for Nanette’s father. They need basic essentials, toilet paper, soap, batteries aa, aaa, d, bug spray, dog food, non-perishable food items, lanterns for light in the house at night, and if possible any camping stoves or burners to be able to cook. Tim attends the Calvary Chapel of Puerto Rico and his wife works at a local hospital. Any excess supplies sent will be distributed to someone in need. If anyone is interested in helping this family, they really need it. Packages can be sent through UPS. He can pick up packages at his local UPS office.
