Bowie Medical Expense Fund

Last month, we adopted Bowie from a rescue that brings dogs up to Massachusetts from an Arkansas shelter.  Unfortunately he didn't end up getting along with our elderly cats, but the happy ending was that our very good friends Miriam and Jay fell in love with him and decided to adopt him. We all love Bowie and were so happy to see him get a loving home.
Bowie started acting sick earlier this week and Miriam and Jay brought him to the vet. Unfortunately his blood tests turned up advanced heartworms. The shelter in Arkansas had listed him as being heartworm negative, so the rescue we adopted him from had no idea. He also has a tickborne disease that requires additional treatment.
The good news is that, though serious, the vet thinks Bowie can recover from the heartworms with treatment. However, this treatment will be costly and may take an entire year to complete.
Bowie deserves a chance at life with a loving family. Please consider contributing anything you can to help him get the care he needs.
