Bow Repair Training
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Spencer Jensen and I am a double bassist recently graduated from the Eastman School of Music. I love performing, composing, and arranging and have been adding to my career portfolio.
Last Summer, I attended the Violin Craftsmanship Institute at the University of New Hampshire to learn to rehair violin, viola, cello, and double bass bows. I have spent the last eight months developing my skills and rehairing student bows. I have found this to be engaging work that I thoroughly enjoy and have gotten to the point where its time for me to learn other essential bow repairs. This will allow me to service my customers better since many bows that come in for rehairs are also in need of a repair of some sort.
This summer, I will be attending two repair workshops at the institute to learn necessary bow repair skills and techniques. The cost to receive this training and acquire my tools is hefty on top of living expenses, especially since I am still in the beginning stages of getting my career and bow repair business going. Any help to cover the costs for this training would be greatly appreciated. To show my gratitude, I am offering thank you rewards for various levels of donations.
My workshop expenses will include:
Tuition: $2000
Tools: $370
Housing: $725
Gas: $60
Food: $100
Thank you for taking the time to read this and your consideration.
