Support for the Bovee Family

Donación protegida

You all were SO wonderful almost two and a half years ago... I'm hoping you can help once again!!

The Bovee Family is in need of your help once more.. can this family get a break already?!

This time it's SUPER MAMA BOVEE in the hospital..
I'll keep the details brief, but know that Kim & Steve are two of the hardest working individuals that I know.. they have been handed a pretty challenging set of cards in life, but they bust their butts to provide a loving and supporting home for their kiddos. That being said, the Bovee family does not take help for granted-nor ask for help lightly..

Kim had to have a total hysterectomy last week. Due to a few complications, and not getting enough time to recover properly, she's back in the hospital after her brief stay last week. She's doing okay now, but she needs more time to rest and recover before getting back to running the Bovee household.

Unfortunately, the Bovee's have hit another bump in the road with the added complications. The arrangements were made for all of the kids (therapies, childcare, etc) for last week, but now Steve has to take additional (unpaid) time off work.

Anything you can contribute would be GREATLY appreciated! I know they even had friends contributing meals last week (which was a HUGE HELP)! In my opinion - I think Mama & Papa Bovee deserve a spa day and a month long vacation... but I think they'll settle for their bills getting paid for now. :)

Original campaign created May 13, 2016:

The Bovee Family is incredibly special to me.. I've been photographing them since their (now 5 year old) son was only a couple weeks old! I have known Kim and Steve since high school, but the past few years we have grown closer as I've documented their growing family year after year. Especially in recent years, life has continuously handed them tough situations, but they have endured and continue to do so. With their five year old having autism spectrum disorder, a two & a half year old rainbow baby girl, they are expecting their new son any day now. Kim has endured Hyperemesis Gravidarum again through this pregnancy (just like her past pregancies), and at 20 weeks, their baby boy was diagnosed with Congenital Cystic Adenomatoid Malformation in his right lung. Although he has been growing at a greater rate than the mass, in recent days his movement has slowed which is causing additional concern (especially due to a history of polyhydramnios which can cause the placenta to deteriorate faster). Now the stress levels are again through the roof as they try to figure out what is going to happen. Although Baby Owen's EDD is May 25th, his labor was stopped three times before reaching 35 weeks, and now there is talks of possible induction, which could be bad for his lung function, especially if the delivery turns into a c-section.

I have been in close contact with Kim since the beginning of this pregnancy, as she was excited to finally have a natural birth at the birth center (as they plan this to be their last child) and she wanted me to be present again to photograph Owen's birth (I photographed their rainbow baby's birth in the hospital, 2 & 1/2 years ago). When Owen was diagnosed with CCAM, she was immediately transitioned to an OB and has had regular appointments with MFM and CHOP doctors to assess Owen's condition and birth plans.

The Bovee family has endured more stress in the last 38 weeks than some of us do in a lifetime. Although they are as prepared as they can be for whatever happens, I want to help them have as much time together as possible, as a whole family, once Baby Owen arrives. Kim's husband, Steve, would ordinarily only be able to take off a few days after he is born, but given the incredible amount of uncertainty and stress that has surrounded this entire pregnancy, I want to help them have more time together in those precious first days. If Owen is asymptomatic at birth, they will follow up between 28-34 days for a CT with contrast to develop a plan to remove the mass. Surgery will probably be before the end of the year, and Steve will need to take additional time off at that time, since Kim will need to stay with Owen for a MINIMUM of 3 days in the NICU after surgery.

Your donation will help cover the Bovee's bills for a couple weeks so that Steve can stay home to help Kim heal from delivery, take care of the children and enjoy special moments with his family and new precious baby boy.

With the insane amount of stress they have dealt with, I'm hoping any money raised here will help give them a little peace of mind knowing their bills are paid and they can focus on Baby's Owen's (and momma's) health, care and family time.

All proceeds will go directly to Kim & Steve. Thank you so much for your time and consideration in donating to help the Bovee Family. <3
