Boston Scott's Hurricane Ida Response
My name is Boston Scott, a proud Louisianan and running back for the Philadelphia Eagles. Anyone who knows me is aware of my everlasting love for the great state of Louisiana as well as my drive for helping those in need. In 2020 I felt called to action to assist with the relief efforts in Louisiana from the devastation left by Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Sally. As a result of our efforts, we raised just over $20,000 to support the rebuilding and recovery of the destruction from these storms. Louisiana is now experiencing the wrath of Hurricane Ida that brutalized Southeastern Louisiana, leaving several dead and knocking out power for more than 1 million people including the entire city of New Orleans. Hurricane Ida has been rated one of the top 5 worst hurricanes in United States history which is why we are setting our fundraising goal even higher!
I have always prided myself on rising to the occasion and overcoming adversity, meeting unforeseen challenges head on, and responding when action is needed. With this mindset and competitive spirit, I am making a heartfelt plea for your contribution to this campaign to aid Southwest Louisiana in its fight to rebuild, repair, and remain strong in duress.
I am personally contributing $10,000 to the United Way of Southeast Louisiana, and I am counting on your help to reach our goal of $50,000. Your gift will go directly to provide much needed resources including (but not limited to) personnel, materials, supportive services, workspace, meals, housing, and equipment to fulfill our mission of relief in Southeast Louisiana.
I feel extremely humbled and truly blessed to use my platform to make a powerful impact, and I am grateful to have such an amazing team and fan base around me to lighten the load for those who need it most. I hope you will prayerfully consider joining me to bring a little light and healing during these dark times.
