My Bosnia Trip

Hello dear friends and family!
Up from high school and now into my sophomore year at college, I have had a growing passion for the cultures of our increasingly diverse world, and as part of my passion, God has called me into His great story to make known His name to all nations. Just recently, as I watched many students actively go out into all the world through the support of Liberty University, I knew that God was calling me to do the same with one place in mind: Bosnia.
Settling on the Balkan Peninsula, Bosnia has a population of around 3.5 million people, with forty percent of these people identifying as Muslim and another 36 percent Serbian Orthodox. While the country as the whole still suffers from civil war atrocities that took place in the nineties, the three ethnic groups- the Bosniaks, the Serbians, and the Croatians- make for a richly infused heritage, still holding much influence from Turkish and Eastern European culture.
With that said, I have the opportunity to go overseas to Bosnia this upcoming spring break from March 15th through the 23rd with the Global Studies department at Liberty University. During these few days, I will be partnering with the local church in Bosnia to help support and encourage their ministry while pursuing outreach in the local community. I will make most of this short term mission to also learn about God’s plan for the church worldwide.
So that’s where you come in! By partnering with me, you will be participating to reach out to our fellow brothers and sisters in Bosnia. The money to pay for all this is right around $3,000. While I certainly do not have the funds to pay, God is not limited! He will provide in every step of the way for the next few weeks; my deadline is January 15th.
While money is a necessity, it comes second for your prayer support. Prayers for the healing and mending of this great nation with also the openness of the citizens as Liberty makes preparations to go overseas goes far beyond me.
