Update!! Thank you so much for the support, you guys. I cannot express it enough. I raised my original goal because I was blown away by how much support I have received. So the original $800 covers the mission trip aspect, whereas after, I still need to raise another $1500 (which I am also working towards through work and side jobs). Please check out my story. Hi friends and family! I am raising money for my very first international mission trip. Serving in this capacity has been on my heart ever since I have been a kid, but I have never taken a big step towards this (at least in terms of helping other countries). I have always had the heart to serve others and will always do so. With this mission trip specifically, I will be able to help repairing, renovating, and painting classrooms and other buildings within the “Famila Feliz” orphanage. This loving refuge home houses and educates ~ 80 children who have suffered extreme abuse. We will create a positive “Children’s Corner” within the two local impoverished hospitals, and possibly support a community health fair. We will also reach out and welcome residents to our first Church Service in Rurre!!!
Going on, I am heavily considering moving overseas once I receive my teaching degree to help with mission work, so I believe this will also be a great way of seeing this lifestyle and preparing for it as well as looking for a potential new home to where I will be serving. I am at a place where I want to honor God with all I do and continue to make myself less and make God more.
The $800 covers the actual cost of the mission trip for myself. I have THREE weeks to raise this money. I am doing my best to work when I can and am also looking for temporary jobs to put towards this as well. Once I have the $800 knocked out, I then have to raise up another $1,200 or so for my flight, but I will have a little bit more time to make this happen. God has opened this opportunity up, so I believe out of faith and hard work on my end, that this can be done and that God can use me for his will.
