Bogdan's Fight Against Cancer

When they met skiing at Mount Washington in 1997 it was love at first sight. Bogdan and Colleen both felt they had met their soul mate that day and were so excited to blend their families (four children) and begin a family of their own (two children). Never did they imagine that they might not be together to see each and every one of their children graduate high school and marry.
Tragically, last month Bogdan was diagnosed with stomach cancer. It has spread to his liver and now things are moving very quickly. The doctors are currently counting his time left in months and they are not optimistic. Up until last month, he was still working. He has always worked in mining, and last year was excited at the opportunity to join a mine just starting up in Atlin, BC.
Without Bogan's income, and with the rising cost of medications and treatment, it has become clear quickly that, in the short term, Bogdan and his wife Colleen will not be able to cover their rising bills. They have made the difficult decision to sell their house, take the equity, and rent a place close by until their youngest two sons finish high school (Tory will graduate in 2018, Jamie in 2020).
They have tried to come up with any other solution wherein they would not have to sell, but the reality is they cannot. They had hoped they would be able to tap into the equity when they renewed their mortgage this year, but with Bogdan not working, that is not possible. Further, Bogdan is very ill and constantly fighting a never ending bout of nausea while travelling to and from Victoria for treatment. They can't imagine having to pack and move at this time. So, we are hoping to gather support to ensure finances are not something they have to worry about at this difficult time.
