Bodhi's Diabetes fund
Donation protected
On 10/25 our son Bodhi was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He ended up in the PICU at the Children's Hospital with Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).This is a life-threatening condition that develops when cells in the body are unable to get the sugar (glucose) they need for energy because there is not enough insulin. We have a tough journey ahead of us, as we now have to act as his pancreas and make sure he gets enough insulin for his body to work correctly. By using the health insurance that I pay for through my work, the medicine for home and school has been super expensive and has put our family in a tight spot to pay bills and rent. So expensive in fact that I cannot afford to the emergency Glucagon shot that can save his life in a case of extremely low blood sugar. There are no alternatives to this medicine. We need two of these Glucagon shots and they are $450 a piece. We also have new restrictions as far as food intake and have to purchase special things for him to eat. We also have a hospital bill coming that will most likely be undesirable. I would like to at least purchase the emergency kit first and foremost, so we know we can save his life in an emergency. This is one of the hardest things we have ever had to go through and we are seeking help from our friends and family. Please help us save a truly special human being. Our loving son Bodhi. THANK YOU!!!!
