Bob's Christmas Wish

We've created this "Bob's Christmas Wish" fund in honor of the late Bob Tretheway to honor his wishes that Christmas Unlimited continue to serve and empower families through its holiday toy and school supply distribution programs for many years to come.
On August 15, 2017, we lost our beloved executive director of Christmas Unlimited, Bob Tretheway. For 26 years, Bob dedicated himself day in and day out to Christmas Unlimited's mission of empowering adults and serving children through its holiday and school supply distribution programs. Bob joined Christmas Unlimited in 1991 as president and later became executive director. Bringing the organization out from the brink of bankruptcy, Bob introduced new methods of fundraising to Christmas Unlimited. For many years, Christmas Unlimited was also forced to move locations multiple times. Bob helped the organization to secure its current home at 2204 Boulder Street, knowing a permanent location would bring stability to the organization. Funds raised from this fundraiser will go toward paying off the mortgage of the building, since Bob was so instrumental in securing Christmas Unlimited's "home".
Prior to his passing Bob was quoted in The Gazette saying, "That's what Christmas Unlimited was about and will continue to be about...We will not give up." Please help us carry out Bob's wish and legacy by donating to this fund to ensure Christmas Unlimited is able to continue to serve the area's families in need for many years to come.
Established in 1923, Christmas Unlimited's mission is "to provide material and emotional support to families in need through our school supply and holiday gift programs, while assisting youth to achieve a positive self image through our mentoring and work skills opportunities." The toy distribution program distributes toys by setting up as a retail toy store and allowing parents to come pick out toys for their children. We believe that the parents should be the family's heroes, not the organization or its volunteers. Led by a volunteer Board of Directors and staffed by over 250 volunteers annually, Christmas Unlimited serves thousands of children in the El Paso and Teller counties annually.
