In January, I had a nick on my jaw. I thought nothing of it until two days later it swelled to golf ball size. Being a medical and fire service professional all my life, I finally decided to go to the Emergency Room to get the infection drained and treated. While doing that, blood work was drawn. My doctor, whom I know very well and have worked many, many shifts with in the Trauma Center, stepped out to read my results. He walked back into my room and gently laid the results on my chest. As I read them, I started to well up. The results showed that the infection was Streptococcal and had entered my bloodstream, ultimately putting me in Acute Liver Failure. It effectively attacked and killed enough of my liver in 72hrs. that it was determined I needed a new liver. Mine was and is too damaged to be of use to me any longer. I'm now on the Transplant List at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta and undergoing further testing . My MELD score is 20. I will need to travel to Atlanta on a bi-weekly and monthly basis.

This has put my wife and me behind a monetary eight-ball. My wife is a teacher, and I am on disability now.  Our monthly income falls incredibly short of the money we need to stay afloat. We are in urgent need of your compassionate help. I've graciously been given a year, possibly two to await a liver. During this time I will only become sicker and in need of help. We ask anything you can donate and will be eternally grateful to you.

Also, this site can be used to purchase tickets to our benefit concert at Coaches Corner in Thunderbolt/Savannah, GA- June 2nd from 2PM-8PM. Five noted bands are coming together for this cause. You need only note 'Concert' on your donation. Tickets are $25 individual, $40 per couple. Kids are free. I thank you in advance for your consideration and support.
