Bobby Alcaraz Memorial

Doação protegida
Hello, Family and Friends. We hope you are well and taking good care of yourselves in these dark and uncertain times. Although we cannot be together in person, be sure that we are thinking of you and that you are truly missed and loved.

As you know, we recently lost a beautiful soul and beloved family member, Bobby Alcaraz. He will be missed dearly, and by many, for the remainder of our time here on Earth. Bobby loved each and every one of you unconditionally. It was his way. He was one of us.

Bobby Alcaraz was born on December 27th, 1977 in Los Angeles, California to Robert Alcaraz Sr. and Lourdes Alcaraz (nee Carrillo). Bobby grew up with a love for sports and was a superb athlete. In his senior year of high school he led his Baseball team, The Bishop Amat Lancers, to win a State Championship in 1996. Bobby was also awarded Most Valuable Player for that series. No small feat! Bobby loved sports and was a die-hard Dodgers fan, to put it mildly. But what he loved most of all was his family. He was always VERY excited to be around us and let us know that EVERY TIME he saw us. He made you feel special. Because he was special. Our hearts break again and again over the great loss we have and will experience, especially during those family gatherings where is presence will truly, truly be missed.

We love you, Bobby.  Always.

On July 1st, 2020, Bobby was admitted to St. Bernadine Medical Center in San Bernardino, CA where he was immediately diagnosed with COVID-19. Bobby fought hard and made progress early on. But as we all know, the novel Coronavirus is unpredictable. Bobby’s state quickly worsened and on Monday, July 13th, Bobby was airlifted to UCSD/Scripps Medical Center in San Diego, CA to receive Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). Top professionals in the field of respiratory care placed Bobby ahead of hundreds of waitlisted Coronavirus patients hoping to receive the treatment. Bobby fought a great battle. We fought with him. He eventually succumbed to complications caused by COVID-19 on August 25th, 2020.

We understand that these are tough times for many, but we humbly ask for any amount you might be able to give. The money we raise together will be donated to Bobby’s immediate family and will be used to pay for medical bills, funeral services, and other related expenses.

Saying we are grateful for your support is truly an understatement. Our family is humbled by your generosity and we want you to know that your selfless gesture will be paid forward.

We know that not all of you can donate and we clearly understand. But there is another way you can help. Please feel free to share this GoFundMe with others. Here is a link:
