IN LOVING MEMORY OF ROBERT POSIO
Robert Posio, 51, of Middle Village, New York passed away on November 19, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife, Irene, and his beloved children, Erica Lynn and Robert Joseph, as well as extended family and innumerable friends.
Bob was the epitome of a good man. His life was one of giving. He gave his time, his talent, his guidance and his love to everyone who had the good fortune to know him. While building a successful career in sales, Bob always made time to coach his children’s baseball, soccer and basketball teams where he taught, encouraged and mentored dozens of children and young adults.
Bob was a gifted athlete and an amazing cook. His barbecues were the stuff of legend. While the dishes he created were fantastic, it was always his company that made the event special. Bob was warm, funny and kind. His spirit was infectious, and his fierce determination helped carry his family and friends through their darkest times.
One of the causes closest to Bob’s heart was the Colin Flood Memorial Fund which honors the memory of a very special young man whose own cancer fight ended in 2014. Each year since then, Bob, his close friend and Colin’s father, Kevin Flood, and other family and friends organized the Colin Flood Memorial Basketball Tournament to raise money for Cycle for Survival, a charity supporting pioneering research and lifesaving clinical trials led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
