Bob Nalbandian

Hi, my name is Mari Nalbandian and I am fundraising to help cover some of the costs for my brother-in-law's Celebration of Life on January 29, 2023. Although Bob had been ill and undergoing treatment, he unexpectedly passed away on December 30, 2022.

Bob's passion for hard rock/heavy metal music led him to become quite a well-known powerhouse as a magazine founder, band manager, record manager, club promoter, journalist, podcaster, and documentary producer/director. He directed and co-produced the Inside Metal documentary film series. Then came Pioneers of L.A. Hard Rock and Metal followed by The L.A. Metal Scene Explodes, The Rise of L.A. Thrash Metal, Bay Area Godfathers, and Band vs Brand.

Bob has been described as a "renaissance man" and "historian" in the hard rock/heavy metal circles due to his interest and incredible expertise in this industry. He had an uncanny ability to be a "connector", always finding the best traits in others and connecting people all over the world. He always had a story to tell and a movie line to go with it. His work has been appreciated by many and his loss will be truly felt around the world.

In his personal life, he enjoyed spending time with his family during holidays and special events. We knew him as a funny, giving and kind son, brother, and uncle. We are devastated by such a sudden loss, but we know he is now pain-free. It is our wish to give him the warmest celebration and farewell he deserves. We thank you for your consideration and appreciate your desire to help honor Bob on 1/29/23.
