Bob's Dialysis & Kidney Transplant

I am still about a year from a new kidney. Due to my health, the kidney disease is getting worse. It's getting harder to recover from treatments, and dialysis is just plain getting old. However, I'm still hanging in there, and thank everyone for their love and support." ~ Bob (9/29/2018)


Dear Friends ~

I'm reaching out and asking for help on behalf of my sweet, kind, caring, loving brother Bob Schubert, who is facing the fight of his life   ~ keeping his body functioning while he waits for a new kidney.

Bob has now been on dialysis treatment since January 23, 2015 - that's 1,363 days of his life. During this time, he experiences/has experienced the following:

*Dialysis every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for 4 hours each day.

*Kidney cancer. On August 2017, one of Bob's already non-functioning kidneys was removed.

*Open heart surgery. Triple bypass surgery was performed on Bob in June 2016.

*Living daily with kidney failure, while waiting for a transplant - which could be anywhere upwards of a year. Once Bob has surgery, he faces a two week hospitalization and 12 week recovery.

*The expiration of disability benefits, which will run out six months after surgery. This means that during recovery, he will have to actively seek employment - after not being able to work since June 2014.                


In 1997, Bobby and I met one another for the first time. Being an adopted only child, I had no clue I had siblings. From the moment Bobby and I met, we just clicked. Our love of music and laughter bonded us quickly, and I'm certain, had we grown up together, that we would've found ourselves in our own share of sibling trouble!

Where Bob and I differ is that he has been a diabetic since he was a child. And his struggle is becoming more and more challenging and exhausting by the day. His life consists of dialysis, rest, recovery, and bowling once or twice a month. 

For those that don't personally know Bob, he is a 1986 graduate of Greenfield High School in Greenfield, WI, and a 1990 graduate of Concordia University in Milwaukee, WI, with a degree in Business. He was an athletic youth, playing football, baseball, and basketball in High School, and College Football and Baseball. 

Bob looks forward to the day he can work again, be active, DJ at parties (which is his passion), and have a full social life. Any and all donations are so greatly appreciated.  And sharing . . . sharing of this Go Fund Me page.
