Bob Levis was perhaps the best rhythm guitar player in the world. We don't say that lightly.

There is a difference between lead guitar players and rhythm players. Bob was a fantastic lead guitar player, too, but the guy who is behind the lead guitar is the embodiment of the song. The song is made rich by the consistent and thoughtful play of the rhythm guitar player. They don't often get to shred. They don't usually get to make faces. They don't get the glory. What they get is respect.

Otis Rush and Lonnie Brooks both had great success as two of the legendary Chicago blues men. Behind both of them for decades was Bob Levis.

RIP. He will be missed. Please help us support his wife in this time of need.
