Bob Gaudreau Fund

Eight years ago, Bob was diagnosed with a debilitating spinal cord injury related to a condition know as encephalitis. At birth Bob had a shunt inserted into his brain to help relieve the pressure caused by this condition, an extreme surgery at that time. For fifty years Bob has proceeded to live an extraordinarily happy and productive life in Dracut, MA, his hometown. However in 2011 Bob began experiencing complications from the shunt which at doctors advice was never removed. This began a harrowing path of endless doctors appointments, countless medications, fourteen surgery’s, and eventual paralysis of most of his body.

Bob has never been a person to look for a handout or help, he has in fact been the opposite of that. He has always been willing to lend a hand and is the first one to show up to help you with whatever odd job he can. He has always been a very proud homeowner and small business owner who had his own landscaping business and snow removal company, Goody’s Landscaping.

For many of you who know Bob, you know he is a wonderful husband, a loving father of two, and an amazing friend to all who've had the sincere pleasure of meeting him. Besides your many prayers that they appreciate so much and continue to need, they now have many financial burdens that they must contend with without the income they once had from Bob.

With their children Kristin & Allison in college, enormous medical bills and Theresa recently taking an unpaid leave from work so she can offer Bob the care he needs in the difficult days ahead. Bob is currently under Hospice Care at home. We have decided to ask for help. We felt creating this page was most appropriate course of action. Although we had to put an amount on here, you can never put an amount on the toll that a devastating injury like this takes on one's family. Whether or not you know Bob personally, he truly is the most deserving person we know and any donation will be greatly appreciated by the entire Gaudreau family.
