Boards for Brad

Donation protected
Im raising funds to build some nice boards for my Dad when he gets home.
As you're all aware my Dad, Bradley Young has been in prison for the past 5 years. He and all of us as a family stand true to his innocent plea and have fought with multiple appeals to clear his name, however much to our despair the courts have not been able to see and act correctly on the matter. His parole eligibility is coming up in early 2022 and there is also hope for an earlier parole.

My family and I are sooooo excited to have him home. Since his imprisonment times have been financially tough, in the early days, we sold his two surfboards, at his will, in order to pay some bills. One board was an average board that he had ridden for the previous 5 years and the other was a sort of collectors item, a Jim banks gun he had ridden in Indonesia when he was really young and had held onto for years.

I've spent the last 5 years learning all about surfboards and gained the skills and experience to put a nice one together. I work in a surfboard manufacturing factory where we build premium boards that go all across Australia.
Since covid 19 surfboard demand has gone up, so to has the demand for materials and pricing on materials. putting a nice board together is not cheap but its certainly worth it. I believe in quality boards and am committed to building them to have the best chance at lasting as long as possible.

I would like to build 3 boards for my Dad.

1. A long board. Something easy to ride in small waves, a board that can be taken to family friendly locations and enjoy some small point break waves.
2. A 7ft fish. This design holds a lot of volume and makes paddling easy, a crucial ingredient to getting back into it after a long break. Yet it allows you to turn and still enjoy going top to bottom on a wave. An all round board for day to day waves.
3. A 7'2 pintail channel bottom thruster, this board is designed to go great when the waves are great. It incorporates nostalgic design elements of the era he grew up in, but refined to work for him now. Just a really beautiful and exciting board.

Building surfboards takes a long time. I will be offering all my time to shape the boards and I can't wait to get stuck into. The money will be used for materials and to pay for some glassing fees.

I'm hoping to keep this a surprise for him. So let's keep it on the down low if you're talking to him.

Thanks for your support, I can't wait to catch some waves with my Dad again.
