BMDCGS Rescue Berner Puppy "Bandit" needs Surgery

Donation protected
Bandit was rescued by the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Greater Seattle as a 6 week old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. He was WAY too young to be away from his mother. Sadly, he had been left at a vet clinic by an unethical breeder who told the vet to euthanize him because he had some physical "problems". Thankfully the vet refused to do so. He was very small for his age and unable to walk on his own. After lots of physical therapy, veterinary care and love he began to flourish. He is now a year old and a favorite around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, he has congenital defects in his spine that caused nerve damage to his back legs. This makes him wobbly when he walks and he must wear traction booties to protect his feet. Making it much worse is his left hip has dysplasia. He needs hip surgery. It will cost somewhere between $3,892 and $5,225. We are a very small rescue. There have been a total of 8 dogs in the past 90 days. Each of them needing care. Bandit's veterinary expenses have already added up to over $2,000 and we honestly do not have the funds to get his surgery done. Can you please help? Any funds beyond the cost of Bandit's surgery will go to the BMDCGS Rescue Program to support additional rescue efforts.
