Sophie's Sponsored Litter Picks around Blyth

Hi my name is Sophie I'm 9 and I just moved to Blyth the week before lockdown. During this time I have spent much of my time writing poetry but also exploring my new town on my lockdown walks. I was very upset to see the increase of litter around Blyth since lockdown restrictions eased this inspired me to write this poem about it called 'Blyth's Litter' Listen to my poem here 

I have recently started on our morning walks litter picking along the beach and came up with the idea to do a sponsored litter picks around Blyth to raise money for a local charity. My plan is to do 62 litter picks around different areas of Blyth in 31 days (the whole month of July). 

I will start my litter picking mission on the 1st July and continue throughout July ending on the 31st.  I will do two litter picks a day one on the morning and one on the evening with my family while out on our walks.

I really wanted to pick a local charity and since I have a really big heart for animals I thought that Blyth Wildlife Rescue would be a great charity to raise money for.

Blyth Wildlife Rescue is a charity set up in 2006 working to rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of sick and injured wild animals across Tyneside and Northumberland year after year, combining a volunteer network, casualty collection volunteers, foster caters, a veterinary ambulance and intensive care facility. My goal is to raise £100 for Blyth Wildlife Rescue. It would be great if you could share my litter picking mission and I hope that together we can raise money for this local charity while also helping to keep my beautiful town free from litter.
