Bluff Knoll Fire Facility Go fund Me

My name is Margot Byrne, Owner of Mt Trio Bush Camp & Caravan Park, Amelup. We are located on the boundary of the Stirling Range National Park, one hour north of Albany in Western Australia. We are part of the Borden/Amelup and Gnowangerup communities located within the Shire of Gnowangerup. We were directly effected by the recent fires and although the fires reached the boundary to our campground and property, luckily we had no losses. During the fires, my husband John, like many of our neighbours and the broader community helped fight the fires.

We’ve just been through some huge fires in the Stirling Ranges incl. Bluff Knoll and Amelup.

Fortunately unlike those over east we have no loss of life or homes. 

We we have been trying to get a fire truck from the state government for 20 years. 

We put in a new application for a fire truck in October 19  to DFES.

We hope we are successful this time, and you would think that due to the huge fires that started from lightning strikes here on Boxing Day, that we have stated our case. Our closest fire trucks are currently 50km away in Borden, Gnowangerup and Cranbrook. 

The Bluff Knoll Fire Truck will need to be housed in a secure facility.

All donations will be sent through to the savings account of the Borden Volunteer Bushfire Brigade who have made application to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services for a Fire Truck to be stationed at Amelup - the district which borders the north side of the Stirling Range National Park and Bluff Knoll. 

The intention of the Borden Volunteer Bushfire Brigade is to set up an Amelup (Bluff Knoll) substation which will be home to the Fire Truck. 

All monies raised through this GOFUNDME campaign will be spent on building the appropriate infrastructure (in the form of a shed) which will house the new Fire Truck.

The Borden Volunteer Bushfire Brigade are aware that all monies raised and deposited into this account from this campaign are for this purpose. The President of the Borden Bushfire Brigade is Wayne Davis from Borden and the Secretary/Treasurer is Paul Richardson from Amelup.

The withdrawal plan for all monies donated is to sent directly into the Borden Bushfire Brigade Bank Account. The Secretary/Treasurer Paul Richardson, manages this account.
