Blue Steel AFCSL “D” Division Champions 2018
NAGAAA World Series
We play for the recently crowned “D” Division champions of San Diego’s premier softball league (America Finest City Softball League). We are seeking support to go to the 2018 NAAGAA Gay Softball World Series. Our team represents everything that our San Diego League (America Finest City Softball League) and the National organization NAGAAA (North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance) represent. Diversity, Inclusion and in our case Recovery. We represent a broad cross section of LGBTQ community and our allies with our youngest player at 25 years old and our most experienced at 60. We come from all walks of life and took different paths to get where we are so we cherish our teams diversity. Amongst our team, we have gay men and women, a transgendered player, and a cherished straight ally who is married with children. Our coach is a retired military veteran. We are also inclusive of a number of successful recovery players who have overcome various addictions and who continue to be successful in living a sober life.
Our team has come together in three short years from a team that only won 4 out of 20 games to a team that won a championship on the last day of the season posting an impressive 15 win and 3 loss season. Our commitment as a team is to each other, our diversity to be inclusive of all and to win the Softball World Series Championship. We are seeking financial assistance to help us with the financial costs of getting our team to the 2018 Gay Softball World Series in Tampa, Florida.
On behalf of our team: Albert, Charlie, David, Dickie, Dino, Jeff, Jeremiah, Kaden, Lora, Michael, Coach Mike, Noah, Phillip & Rob; we thank you for your support and consideration.
