Create. Educate. Illuminate.
We are excited to share the creation of Blue Fire Stage Company, the culmination of many years of theater dreams for its founding members!
We are a brand new 501c3 nonprofit theatre company in Haddam, CT. Our mission is to build a collaborative, diverse and accepting community through the arts and arts education. We strive to cultivate a love of theatre arts and astound our audiences with high quality performances and theatrical experiences.
Our productions, workshops and classes develop skills in all aspects of theatre, including:
| acting
| singing
| dance
| pit orchestra
| set design and construction
| lighting and sound
| stage management
Your support is needed and greatly appreciated. 100% of donations will finance start-up and production costs, starting with our inaugural 2020 season. Our startup costs include rights to shows, space rental, set building, costumes, compensation for paid positions, hiring orchestra members, and more. We cannot do it without the support of our fellow theatre lovers! Please donate what you can - any amount is appreciated!
"Blue fire" was originally the name of a special effect used in Victorian theatres in which a mixture containing sulfur would be ignited to create an eerie blue glow on stage. The effect astonished audiences at the time, who had never seen anything like it before, hence "blue fire" came to be used to describe anything equally amazing or sensational, or that astounded an audience.
