Blacksnake Woman's 78th Birthday Cabin Fund

Hello old friends and new !

Today was Blacksnake Woman's 78th Birthday. Today we sat in the Village of Corrahagen, home of Woodland Village Camp for 40 years and shared our memories of the incredible experience of keeping history alive for over a thousand school age children. We laughed and we cried, we remembered names of so many of the children .

Some of these children are 40 -50 years old now. You may be one of them.

We reminisced about driving to Schools, both Public and Private for a half Century to share our wisdoms with the future of America, all those young ones who sat in our Circles both in Schools and in our Village.

When Covid came along in 2019 (like for everyone) it drastically affected the Woodland Village Project which had to close down while the pandemic raged.

While Covid raged, Blacksnake began to experience health issues. Her eye sight diminished

with the onset of Macular Degeneration and Glaucoma. Her Hearing dimmed drastically until it was hard for her to communicate. But that hasn't stopped her working everyday to continue her life's purpose. Keep the Stories alive.

For those of you who know Woodland Village you may not have realized that Blacksnake's Cabin, used for camp and her Healing Practice, has no electricity of it's own. Built by Blacksnake's family 30 years ago, it has stood as a beacon for all who were searching for their place in the World, old and young.

So today, on her 78th Birthday, I asked Blacksnake, " if you have any wish granted today what would it be?" She gave her big smile and answered, " I wish I could have electricity in my cabin and maybe a Walkway out there so the elders could walk out there more easily"

All the way home, I wondered if I could make that happen for her. After all she has given to others for a half Century, what if I could find a way to show my and others appreciation for her life time of giving to others. What if every person that she gave herself fully to, could give back to Blacksnake just a little something that could make her Birthday dream come true.

It wouldn't"t take much to be able to do that.
