NU Black Student-Athlete Alliance BLM Fund
Donation protected
The Northwestern Black Student-Athlete Alliance is a student-led organization within the Northwestern University Athletics Department with goals to enhance the student-athlete experience at NU. We (BSAA) have taken the initiative to gather funds to support organizations in lieu of the tragic events that have recently transpired.
On behalf of BSAA, we want to extend our support during this terrifying time. As leaders, we take on a responsibility to uphold our platform as the black student-athlete community and make sure our voices are heard. We deem it necessary to take immediate action in response to recent events regarding the injustice in this country.
All proceeds will be donated to Rebuild the Hood, Inc.: a 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to Revitalizing Distressed Communities via Investment in Small Businesses and Real Estate. "Black Business Boost: Chicago" presented by Rebuild the Hood, Inc. is an initiative to consciously practice group economics and intentionally funnel money to purchase black owned products and services. “ In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the civil unrest as a result of the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, it is more important than EVER to unite and agree to rebuild black owned businesses.” Attached below is a link for you to learn more about their organization.

All funds will be allocated to Black-owned businesses in the Chicago area via $1,000 grants distributed by Rebuild the Hood, Inc. This organization will be directly withdrawing the funds raised through our campaign when fundraising concludes on June 15th, 2020.
