Black Mold Survivors; Mom & child out of a home.

Aloha, I have this cheerful, introspective friend, named Lindsey. She is probably your friend too. We got to know each other, a handful of years ago, in Arizona. She was that friend, that you make immediately. I clicked with her maybe because I've never met someone like her as I immediately saw that she truly hears you and sees you and is always in your place when you talk to her. She has these skills of listening and compassion, more than anything. I don't know anyone like that personally, except her. She is also on the upbeat, even though her life is full of crazy downbeats. You can see in her smile a genuine person, that loves deeply. I'm grateful for her friendship and if you know, you know, if not I'll tell you... she is in a really hard place, right now. She had trouble looking for a rental not long ago and it was tough. She says not many people in her San Diego area near her Medical University, seem to want a child added to their rental agreements, except the more costly rentals. Her daughter is young enough.
However, she did find what she thought was a perfect situation, early this year but her recent rental had a terrible leak for months and with black mold heavily growing in the walls, which they breathed and lived in not knowing until they found themselves constantly sick. After alerting her renter, the renter finally after many months tried to clean up and at that point, it was too late. All their personal belongings, clothes, bedding, etc., will most likely need to be thrown away. Lindsey and her daughter were in it too long and have developed a serious reaction and aggressive allergies to the mold residues on their possessions, that were in the rental. This has increased to serious health issues from the Black Mold, as the doctor informed her.
This means they will have to get rid of their clothes, bedding, furniture, and some items they will not be able to treat. Her renter also required her to pay rent even when they left, even though it was unsafe. Is there any way, we can do something to temporarily help Lindsey? Can we just give enough from our pockets to help her live and get through this next semester of her schooling? If she could just get enough for a down payment for a place for her and a child. As we know most renters, almost want the 1st and last month, upfront payments along with the rental fees.
Whatever you can share I'm sure Momma and her daughter would appreciate. Lindsey does know, I was questioning her on all of this and in my desire to create a fundraiser but she didn't know that I was writing this up, for her on GoFundMe. I'm going to give her all I can when I get something from my family next week's paycheck. Even if it's $20 here and $10 there. I am going to try and help her. They are what she comically calls "couch surfing" with generous friends to stay off the streets and mostly just living in their car, all day. Prayer, is another way you can help, she has told me.                       However, I put $10,000 as the goal and even if we can make it to the 1/2 way mark on that, I know Lindsey, would count it as a miracle blessing!
Does anyone else think they could bring a little to help this hardworking, single mom out? I know she has lots of friends due to the wonderful person she is, which is why I will ask Lindsey if I can post this, on her page. This is the only way I know how to unite all the lovely people, she calls friends. I have never seen her truly discouraged until this last week. I'm worried about her. Of course, knowing her, she is probably creating a lesson to learn from it in her mind, even though she is in another struggle. I love her indomitable spirit. I hope to be like her someday!
