Black Ceramicist Fund
Don protégé
Hello my name is Tasha Rodriguez...
The owner of our ceramics studio, Red Brick Ceramics, located in The Mission, and myself would like to make more space for Black ceramicists in our community. There isn't NEARLY enough Black representation in ceramics. The costs of classes and supplies alone, have by default, made these creative spaces inaccessible to Black creatives. And as creative space in San Francisco becomes harder and harder to come by, the obstacles one faces to learn these valuable skills become greatly magnified. We want to open as many doors as possible.
In meeting our initial financial goal, we would be able to provide at least two artists with three months rent in a private space, a security deposit, supplies, tools, furniture, guided instruction, and of course clay... ALL FOR FREE. If we go beyond our financial goal, we'll be able to enable more artists, or even buy them more time. Your donation will also help ensure the safety of our lovely and diverse studio. EVERY PENNY GOES TO A BLACK ARTIST!
I'm working with numerous organizations in the Bay Area to find Black artists who are not only eager to learn, but who also want to make themselves fixtures in San Francisco's tiny ceramics community. Red Brick is eternally grateful for every donation toward our cause. Thank you!!!
