Hello,
Not even two weeks after our son Lucas James Hoffman was born he was diagnosed with Saggital Craniosynostosis. Essentially one of the soft spots on his head closed prematurely. This has caused his head to form into a shape more resembling a football than a basketball. After time as your brain continues to grow it would begin to push against the skull and could cause a variety of issues to but not excluding death. To correct the issue he must undergo surgery opening up that saggital suture. This is a very intense 6-8 hour skull procedure. Lucas will undergo surgery on August 4th, 2014 at noon st Cincinnati Children's Hospital. We would appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and anything else you can do to help! Thank you very much for your consideration.
If you have any more questions on the above mentioned condition you can find answers at http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/health/c/craniosynostosis/
