Disabled Mom desperate for surgery
Donation protected
My name is Matthew and I am the 20 year old son of Karen Watson. My mother is my saint and the most important person in my life. She raised our family of 6 after her divorce with next to no help from our father. She has worked her whole life to provide for us and now we as her children are trying to return the favor. After a series of work related accidents and two car accidents my mother has lost close to 75% of the use of both her hands and wrists. Due to this she has been forced to resign from her position as a full time In Home care giver as she can no longer take care of her patients or clean homes. As it stands, my mom can hardly lift a full glass of water or coffee mug off the table and everyday tasks such as washing dishes or writing have become painfully difficult tasks. She currently lives with my disabled step father in their home in Northern California and survives on her fixed income from a small investment made in the early 2000's. Here's the kicker folks, my mom needs surgery in order to regain a portion of the use of her hands and arms. This surgery costs over $40000 to have both hands operated on. My mother falls into a category of financial difficulty that many find themselves in today. She makes just enough to survive month to month, no where close to enough to afford the surgery she desperately needs, but just enough to disqualify her from any sort of aid the government could provide. My hope is that through the charity and care of friends and strangers that we can raise enough money to afford my mom this surgery. If you feel the desire to give a little, or a lot, i could never thank you enough.
