BJ Blankenbeker Benefit Campaign

Donation protected
February 4, 2017, started much like any other day for Benjamin "BJ" Blankenbeker.  He began his shift serving and protecting the citizens of Missouri as a Trooper of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.  However, what would happen during his shift has altered his life drastically since that date.

While stopping to assist another Trooper with a traffic stop BJ suffered a seizure on the side of the road.  BJ received medical treatment but the cause of the seizure remained a mystery.  This type of medical condition would be a problem for someone of any career path but as a Trooper it prevented him from working entirely.  BJ was off work for approximately three months and was finally cleared to return to duty, though the cause of the seizure was still unknown.

Life returned to a certain level of normalcy for a time but on June 26, 2017, BJ had another seizure while at work, this time in the office.  BJ is now off work until a cause of the seizures can be determined.

As you can imagine, being off that amount of time will quickly drain any accumulated leave a person has accrued.  Along with the time off work, medical expenses continue to accumulate.

BJ is scheduled to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, in an attempt to determine the cause of his medical condition. Travel will add even more expenses to those already sustained from multiple ambulances rides, CT scans, MRIs and EEGs.

BJ is an amazing Trooper and more importantly an amazing human being.  He is a dedicated family man to his wife, Missey, and his daughters Anastyn and Addilyn.

BJ served in the United States Navy and has served on the Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT team as both a sniper and a medic.

This campaign was established to help a man who has dedicated himself to serving others.  So please, if you have the means necessary, donate to this worthy cause.

Sincerely,

Joe Veasman
