We are asking you to help us save our dog. Binx is a loveable 3year old bully breed that has a lust for life. We were able to rescue Binx this past year from neglect and abuse. He has had a new chance in a new home...the other day Seth and I woke up to piles of vomit with blood throughout the house and after two trips to vet, we found Binx has an intestinal blockage. The ultrasound showed Binx's intestine is inflamed and close to rupturing. The muscles in the wall of the intestine continue to contract when an obstruction is present, creating a wave-like motion that normally pushes material through the intestine, unfortunately in the case of a serious blockage- it can make it worse.
Seth and I have discussed what having surgery means, the risks involved and the financial crisis this will place us in. We are aware Binx is "just a dog" and realize the commitment you make when you have a pet. We realistically crunched the numbers and discussed this with level heads. We will put off our engagement, we will be eating ramen, I can pick up more work, and my student loans will have to wait....As many of you know, a pet becomes part of the family and after really looking at what all this means, we still can't just let him die. He is a good dog with a good heart. He has brought joy to our little family and so many others. He loves kids and becomes completely relaxed when we visit the elderly at the assisted living senior care home my grandmother lives in. He brings a smile to anyone he meets and will make sure he is getting petted at all times.He loves other animals...even the mice we had in our apartment (he was no help!) He has learned so much from being in our home, he works hard and is extremely food motivated! He will do anything for a treat and some love.
