It is my pleasure to inform you that I am competing in Binibining Pilipinas Teen USA 2017. Binibining Pilipinas USA is the most prestigious Filipino-American Beauty pageant showcasing the beautiful and confident Filipino women from allover the country.
As a candidate, I am required to raise at least $2500 in sponsors/congratulatory ads. The proceeds from these ads will go to charities and foundations like the Smile Train, Apl.de.ap Foundation International and Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation which is for the benefit of improving education and allowing access to education in the Philippines.
To introduce myself, my name is Czarina Kwong and I am 17 years old from Las Vegas. For the first time in my life, I found something that I am passionate about.
Last year, I joined my very first pageant. In this, I placed top 6 and won the title “Best in Swimsuit.” My one biggest dream is to be able to represent my culture all around the world and show them how amazing my people are. I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved here to the US when I was only 12 years old. Leaving my four siblings behind in the Philippines, I was forced to become independent and self sufficient. I joined my last pageant because I wanted to try out something new and because I wanted to build the best version of myself, but I completely fell more in love with my culture and realized that THIS is what I want to do. I made the decision that no matter what I will keep chasing my dreams.
I am a Media Communications student at Northwest Career and Technical Academy. I focus most of my time on my studies and I have maintained Straight As all throughout High School. I advocate for the importance of education, especially the Philippines. I believe that every child deserves to have a chance in life, and it starts with their education. Growing up in the Philippines, I have seen poverty with my own eyes and it breaks my heart to see young children out begging in the streets. I will use my platform to advocate for the importance of education and hopefully positively impact my community.
