Bills stroke Recovery and Care
Donation protected
On 8/25/17 my dad Bill Arrowsmith (William, Billy, Willy, Biddy, Willus, Uncle Bill, Dad, Grandpa) went into Highland Hospital for an emergency bowel obstruction surgery. After a successful surgery and while in recovery, my dad had a massive stroke in the largest artery on the left side of his brain. He then went through an embolectomy on his brain to remove the blood clot. This was also a success!
Now, I am doing the hardest thing, swallowing my pride, and asking for help. My dad has a very long and tedious road of recovery ahead of him. He is suffering from aphasia and right side paralysis as his main affects from the stroke. My dad knows what he wants to say but he cannot find the words to speak them himself. Recovery is key to him returning to an adequate new normal. After recovering from his abdominal surgery, my dad will be admitted into a stroke rehabilitation program. This program could last weeks or months. The outlook on his long term care is really unknown at this point.
The love of my dads life, Beckie, now has the burden of being the sole provider for their family. Beckie is being so strong and going back to work in a week in order to continue providing for my dad.
If anyone knows my dad, you know his humor can get him through anything! We are staying strong for him, but it is hard. I know there are so many people out there who love and care about my dad. If you are wondering what you can do to help, any type of donation on here will. All proceeds will go to his wife Beckie for his care.
Thank you ♡♡♡
