Bill's Last Ride - A Son's Tribute

One last ride with dad.

Here is a story about Bill and Will.  Will Iaia is an outstanding athlete whose athletic career began as a runner, morphing into professional triathlete, and eventually landing in the world of competitive cycling. Will has raced as a pro cyclist in both road and cyclocross races. Although Will has a talent most of us would kill for as well as a burning competitive nature, what matters most to him is family and community involvement. Will’s father, Bill, passed away unexpectedly in December 2016. Bill was an athlete in his own right, and voluteered every summer at The Running School Camp in New York. On a dare,  Bill rode his bicycle across the United States, twice, completely unaided in support of Angela’s House, a nonprofit organization supporting families of children with life threatening illnesses. A recently discovered short video highlights Will’s father talking about his determination and experience. Bill’s final sentence “I think I have one more left in me”,  is the inspiration for Will’s ride.

Will’s inspiration is to duplicate his father’s ride not only as a tribute to Bill but also to raise funds for Angela’s House in New York  as well as ProjectRecycle in Colorado. Starting at the Golden Gate Bridge on July 18, 2017 and ending in New York  no later than August 12, 2017.  Will’s goal is to complete the solo ride   carrying only minimal supplies and his father’s ashes.

Will  is honoring Bill's  wish by riding across the country, one last time.

A donation of any amount will help Will meet his goal to not only honor Bill, but to help children in two states.  Your support means the world to Will, his family, and the children he will be able to support. No gift is too small, any support is appreciated more than you will know.

Please help by making a donation as soon as possible as the ride is right around the corner.  Please share and spread the word.  Thank you!
