Bill & Yoshi Cross Canada Bike ride for Charities

Hi, My name is Bill Shoup

Ever since I was a kid I have always wanted to bike across Canada.

Living with Crohn's disease I would never have thought it was going to be possible.

I will be turning 60 when I make this great journey across this awesome country of ours. As I made the decision to do this with my dog
Yoshi, I thought how can I make this better? Well it has grown into something bigger and is going to be so much better then I originally
planned!

I said to my wife Marie that I wanted to raise money for this great event.

So since I have Crohn's and almost died from it, I said let's fundraise for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation ! 

Also, I've always believed in and fought for Women's rights so why not also fundraise for the Canadian Women's Foundation !

Lastly,  I wanted to include fundraising for Easter Seals  as I have seen first hand the great things they do and how much of an impact they
make on children's lives.

So begins this huge project of planning and connecting with people in order to make it all happen by next year.

I have to say,  it is a lot more work then I thought it would be to put it all together ! 

I would have never been able to do it without the help from my family, friends and fellow BNI'ers. I am overwhelmed by there generosity
and support.

I know that I am asking  a lot  in order to make this all happen especially when you hear of the constant scams out there and  people
being taken advantage of.  In order for people to feel safe about donating I have set up the charities so that the money goes directly to
whatever one they have chosen.

I  also set up this Go Fund me page to help cover our cost as it will be more then I expected. 
Cost like gas, food, lodging, repairs and we are in need of a motorhome !

We have been trying to get one donated for the trip but no luck as of yet. We looked into renting one but the cost is around $40,000.00 .
A little pricey to say the least !
If we can raise enough money through Go Fund Me to buy a used one, then we will sell it after we are finished using it and split the
proceeds equally to the 3 charities.  
We are looking for places to camp along our route with (hopefully) our motorhome or sometimes Yoshi and I  will  camp along the way in
my hammock tent.
If we can get people to help us out even if it is  just  for camping spots along our route then we will need less money from Go Fund Me.

I hope that we can truly raise enough money and awareness  for these 3 charities to make a difference.

I am capturing the whole trip on Facebook, YouTube and other social media sites so that people can follow us.
I just hope we don't get eaten by a bear;) going though BC !!! LOL

I hope to meet as many people as I can on our journey through Canada !
