Bill Schaafsma Family

On Tuesday, July 28th, 2020, Bill Schaafsma was suddenly, tragically taken from us. To refer to Bill as a “57 year old pipefitter” would be a woefully short description of the man. To his friends, family and colleagues he was much more.
Loving husband and father, great sibling and son, true friend, supreme job runner, expert rigger, pipefitter extraordinaire, are just the first words that come to mind. Although not official titles, when the situation called for it, Bill would be a politician, diplomat, salesman, beer buddy, psychologist, engineer, comedian, referee, and arbitrator, to name a few.
Along with his legacy, Bill leaves a loving wife Amy, and two beautiful children, Calvin and Chloe. Both kids are in college and along with tuition, mortgage and other expenses brought on during these tough times, the Schaafsma family could certainly use our help.
During the time we had the privilege of knowing Bill, he touched many lives in a positive way. Hopefully you were fortunate to share the experience and you can honor Bill’s memory by making a contribution to his family fund. All donations are appreciated and the Schaafsma family extends their sincere gratitude.
I, Tom Kelleher, had the pleasure of meeting Bill seventeen years ago when he came to work at AMS Mechanical.   We quickly formed a bond that included a strong work ethic as well as a lasting friendship.  I am honored to oversee this fund raising campaign.  Our common goal is to raise money so that Bill's wife Amy will be able to continue their children's college education.
