Update 12/27 @10:00am This was sent to me this morning from my mom: Here's an update on your dad Shakira BJ is on the road to recovery and he's coming to terms that he will not be able to do the things he used to do anytime soon. He has bruises appearing where we didn't know another injury had occured, the bone outside his right ear as well as inside, two toes on right foot. It appears he also may have fractured a rib or two and his clavical on his left shoulder. He has xrays scheduled for today. They are attaching a heart monitor today that he'll wear for a month. He's seen his neurology doctor, still monitoring his skull fracture and he'll cobtinue wearing neck brace foranither 2 1/2 months. Next visit is going to be with his facial doctors to decide what will be done for his multitude of facial fractures. He is so appreciative of the help he has received from many friends and family and cannot thank you enough. (I copied and pasted this from my Facebook page)

So many of you have reached out wanting to help by donating so I wanted to get this up and going. I will update and edit as I go.

Update @ 10:20p 12/19
I just spoke with my mom to get the latest update. Dad will have to wear the neck brace for approx. 3 months. He has a small skull fracture which they are monitoring. He did fracture his neck, C7. They have also done an ultrasound of his pancreas for some concerns that they have there. No results yet. The surgeon is waiting for the swelling to go down in his face so he can see all the fractures and what needs to be fixed. ( I may have worded some or possibly all of this wrong, I am not a Doctor or in the medical field at all...be patient with me).

Every dollar will help more than you know. This is going to be such a long road to recovering for my Dad. He is definitely a very proud man who is one of the most giving souls I know. He and my mom would never ask for help, they would rather help others in need over themselves. Please help me, help them. All money will go directly to my parents. I am just setting it up for them.

Dad is at St. Als in Boise. Swelling has gone down. Some blood work has come back and is normal. Waiting on the rest. My brother has been up there and is headed home for a little bit. I’ll update more later when I know more.

I just want to say thank you to all the people who helped my Dad (Bill Bjorklund) yesterday (12/18) at Albertsons in Baker City. He ended up having an ambulance called and was taken to the ER. He was then taken by Life Flight to Boise to where a trauma surgeon was waiting for him. He might be taken to Portland today via life flight. We’ll know more later.

His blood sugar levels dropped to 49 while he was getting some groceries for he and my mom. He passed out and landed face first on the hard floor. After CT scans at the ER, he literally broke his face. He also may have a fracture in his neck, C7.

From my understanding, he did not have surgery yesterday. The surgeon would like the swelling to go down to see what exact is going on.

There is also another issue that may bring him to the Portland area.

I will be setting up a GoFundMe account for my parents. Every month has already been a struggle for them and this happening has really put them in a financial bind. My parents would never do this for themselves, so I’m doing it for them. They need help and they don’t want to bother anyone by asking. That’s just who they are. They are good people. My Dad takes care of my mom who has so many health issues. Now that he’s needing care and a very long road to recovery, I want to help ease their stress.

My brother and his wife were with Dad last night when he arrived in Boise. Thank goodness our parents have kids everywhere.
